A dwarf box with glossy, rounded, dark green leaves. A reasonably fast grower, but trims extremely well to form an excellent formal hedge. Very hardy

Buxus microphylla 'Japonica'

"Japanese Box"
A faster grower with bright green, glossy, rounded leaves. A very hardy box, ideal in warmer climates. Needs more trimming to keep compact.

Buxus sempervirens

"English Box"
This is the most popular plant for small hedges, topiary and parterre gardens. Very attractive dark green, small leaves. Can be very long lived if kept moist in hot weather and fertilised on a regular basis.

Buxus sempervirens 'Emerald Pillar'

An upright form of the "English Box". Grows into a narrow, pencil-shaped shrub. Ideal when this shape is required for a very shady position. Will also grow in a sunny spot.

Buxus sempervirens 'Suffruticosa'

"Dwarf Edging Box"
Also known as "Dutch Box"
A slow growing box which naturally forms a compact, round shape. The leaves tend to be lighter in colour and rounder in shape than the common English Box. Excellent as an edging plant or for patio pots.

Buxus microphylla 'Koreana'

"Korean Box"
This box grows wider than high, making it ideal for an informal hedge. The glossy green leaves are smaller than most box leaves, and tend to be narrower in shape. It is ideal for planting under trees as a "ground cover".

Buxus sempervirens (Topiary)

The "English Box" is an extermely popular plant for topiary. It grows very well in patio pots and can be trimmed into pom-poms, spirals or trained into animal shapes. Will grow in sun or shade.

Buxus sempervirens 'Blauer Heinz'

An extremely slow growing variety of "English Box". Forms a very dense round shrub. The leaves are quite large, rounded and a dark bluish-green colour.

Buxus sempervirens 'Longifolia'

An usual form of the "English Box". The leaves are longer and slimmer than normal and a deep glossy green colour. The new growth is a paler green, making a lovely contrast. Quite fast growing and responds extremely well to trimming.

Buxus sempervirens 'Variegata'

"Variegated English Box"
A slow growing box, with green and cream variegated leaves. Forms an excellent hedge for brightening a dark area. Great as a patio plant.
