A rare magnolia with huge oval leaves to 30cm long. In late summer, large cup-shaped, creamy-yellow flowers are produced. In poor soil it may only grow to 3M or so, but in rich soil it should reach 10M. Spectacular when in full flower.

In summer the entire tree is cover with creamy-yellow flowers which take on pink overtones as they mature. The flowers are followed by large red strawberry-like fruit.
