List of Evergreen Trees

Arbutus andrachnoides

An upright evergreen tree, growing 3-6M.
White bell-shaped flowers and orange fruit in autumn.
Beautiful smooth reddish bark.

Cornus 'Norman Haddon'

C. kousa x C. capitata
A beautiful spreading tree with similar flowers to Cornus capitata. In mild climates it tend to be evergreen, but in colder areas many leaves turn a soft red before falling.

Magnolia delavayi

A rare magnolia with huge oval leaves to 30cm long. In late summer, large cup-shaped, creamy-yellow flowers are produced. In poor soil it may only grow to 3M or so, but in rich soil it should reach 10M. Spectacular when in full flower.

Magnolia grandiflora 'Greenback'

A newer release of the evergreen magnolia. Very bushy in habit, pyramidal at first becoming round-topped with age. Creamy-white flowers, glossy green leaves

Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem'

An extremely popular small tree, used as screening or as a specimen. Grows to at least 5M. Produces large creamy-white flowers, more so in warmer areas. Large shiny green leaves.

Cornus capitata

"Evergreen Dogwood"
A spreading tree growing to approx 6 metres.
In summer the entire tree is cover with creamy-yellow flowers which take on pink overtones as they mature. The flowers are followed by large red strawberry-like fruit.

Gordonia yunnanense 'Silk Screen

An upright, medium sized tree growing 5-10M. The large glossy green leaves emerge red in spring. Produces masses of large white, camellia-like flowers in spring. Trims well, making it an ideal screening plant.

Magnolia grandiflora

"Bull Bay"
One of the most magnificent evergreen trees available. Develops into a large round-headed tree with big, glossy green leaves. The fragrant, creamy white flowers can reach 25cm across. Best for large gardens.

Magnolia grandiflora 'Exmouth'

A beautiful shapely tree capable of reaching 10M. Large creamy-white perfumed flowers. The shiny green leaves have a lovely brown "felt" underneath. Often used as a screening tree.

Magnolia grandiflora 'St Marys'

A bushy form of the evergreen magnolia. Glossy green leaves with light brown "velvet" beneath. Large, perfumed creamy-white flowers at a young age. Excellent as a specimen tree or for screening.
