A small tree with spectacular heart shaped leaves that continually change colour throughout the year.
The leaves are a rich purple in spring, becoming greener over summer, then followed by a beautiful autumn display of red, apricot and gold.
The distinctive, smooth, dark brown branches have maqsses of mauve pink, pea-like flowers emerge from the naked wood in spring.
Ideal as a small specimen tree in most gardens.
Best in deep well-drained fertile soils.
Can grow to approximately 5 metres.
