An attractive, small deciduous tree with rounded spreading habit.
In spring, clusters of mauve-pink, pea-like flowers appear along the bare branches and trunk.
The kidney to heart-shaped leaves are a dark bluish-green colour.
While tolerating cool to moderately warm climates, protection from hot, drying winds is preferred.
