It forms a small pyramidal tree growing to at least 5M.
The large bowl-shaped flowers are a mauve-pink colour on the outside, lighter within.
The flowers have a lovely clean look.
They are held erect on the branches as the leaves form.
It is one of the last magnolias to flower each spring.
