Commonly known as the "Chilean Totara".
In cultivation, it is a slow-growing, bushy, evergreen shrub or small tree.
It has spirally arranged, dark green, narrow and pointed leaves up to around 2cm long. White stomal lines on the underside.
It may produce modified cones comprise fleshy, berry-like scales that are bright red when mature.
